but I think this discussion is getting way too deep and way over my head to be making comments on. Heck, I may only see the AMS's shop 3 maybe 4 times a year. It's just too far for that. I'm not qualified to comment on the areas you'd like to discuss or get answers wrt who or where his products are made. Why not just email AMS directly for those answers. I can comment on personal experiences when I have dealings with AMS when it pertains to parts or servicing. You also have to understand that every time I look at a potential part from a US vendor, I always have to factor in the exchange rate, the added tariffs, the customs/duties and brokerage fees associated with such a transaction. For the most part, those choices don't prove to be cost effective in relation to the products I can get from AMS. I think your perspective might change as well if you faced near 100% added costs to the base price. You will notice that I don't make it a point to bad mouth the products of the sponsors of this site. For the most part I believe them to be great quality parts. I have purchased substantial amounts from CZP and some from PowerTrix. Perhaps if 300 Degree did more than just fuel rails I might look more towards them as well. Which brings me to the part about inovation. Maybe AMS hasn't broke untried territory as much as other vendors here, but they do carry a variety of products not offered by those vendors. Of course there are also rebranded products made to AMS's specs, but that sort of business is also practiced by vendors of this site. There was a time when AMS was bashed (and sometimes still does) for having some of their products made in Asia. Heck, our cars were made in Asia for Pete sake. Aside from that, doesn't SZ and SPL have some of their products manufactured in Asia now. It was OK to point fingers back when when AMS did but now that the other vendors are doing it it's all of a sudden acceptable? AMS did come out with their own Strut Brace many years ago that was duped but that subject doesn't seem to hold water for most. 3000 Degree came out with a stunning fuel rail based on the Border racing design. Kudos for taking an existing product and making it better and more affordable than the Border racing Kit. Same applies to SPL for their FUCAS and RUCAS which were based on the Midori design. Again, a bit of re-engineering to produce a quality product that's available and affordable to the North American market. Are thos FUCAS and RUCAS made in the US? I don't believe so. You're telling me that these types of scenarios are what is considered innovation? If so, than would it not stand to reason that if AMS applied the same process, that they would be in good company? Just throwing that out their. I applaud your staunch belief and support for the vendors you believe to be the only or best source for products. Your support is noteworthy. I on the other hand have my own reasons for my choices that don't coincide with yours. Neither is right nor wrong and to get into further discussions on issues of morality is not something that should be discussed on a car Forum, IMO. I would however enjoy to have a persoanl conversation with you at great lengths about issues like this though. I think we can exchange some interesting points of view. Perhaps we'll get the chance next year at one of the Z events - ZDayZ, Z Nationals, BZF, ZCon? Maybe we can pick-up this discussion again then.BTW, have you made contact with a fellow co-worker of mine who's an Air Defence Controller on the AWACS. I don't know which Sqn he went to though. Sgt Rob Kerr just moved there this past July and I believe his flight training has him in NC for a few weeks. Cheers.
